The Bartlett 4th of July Festival is planned and implemented by a group of volunteers who meet throughout the year to coordinate the events that make up the Festival. Meetings are at 7pm the 2nd Monday of each month at the Bartlett Community Center. The festival is self-funding and profits from the previous year are reinvested into the festival for the next year, however a $12,000 contribution from the Village of Bartlett toward the cost of the fireworks display makes the fireworks display a highlight each year. Additionally, we count on the support of the Bartlett Police Department and Fire Department in keeping the festival orderly and safe for all the attendees.
The Bartlett Park District supports the festival by providing the grounds without charge, managing and supervising the adjacent parking lot, and providing the garbage removal free of charge.
Without the cooperation of the Village and the Park District, the 4th of July Festival would not exist.
History: The committee was formed in August of 1992 by a few residents who wanted a "hometown celebration" that would create memories for the children of the community. The event has expanded over the years to include something for everyone. New members are always welcome to help carry on the tradition.
